TRU-TONE LIGHTS UP THE REAL LIFE HOUSE FROM THE

CLASSIC HOLIDAY MOVIE A CHRISTMAS STORY

A lighting revamp to bring the style of this classic house back to the 1940's

The home from the classic 1983 movie "A Christmas Story" has become a popular tourist attraction since opening to the public in 2006. Real-world operational challenges such as blown circuits and high energy costs had left the attraction's management no practical alternative to standard LED Christmas lights, which give off the modern electronic appearance we’re all accustomed to seeing today, but anachronistic for a home set in the 1940’s.

Just in time for the 2022 holiday season, we were thrilled to be invited to swap out all of the home's Christmas lights, both inside and out with Tru-Tone Classicolor ceramic-type lights

Warmer Colors and Brighter Light

When swapping the existing bulbs from the porch roofline, we were surprised to discover the LED bulbs we were removing were turned on! In the daylight you could clearly see that the replacement Tru-Tone bulbs were illuminated, but the standard LED lights appeared to be off.

Energy Efficiency with Mid-Century Style

Tru-Tone bulbs offer all the benefits of LED lighting, but without compromising the old-school charm. For a business that keeps them on 24/7/365 the lights pay for themselves in just over a month in energy savings! Learn more about how much energy you can save with Tru-Tone bulbs.

We fell in love with this repeating arrangement of colors we used on the house: Green, White, Red, Blue, Orange, Pink and Yellow:
