IMPORTANT NOTE:
Halos fit vintage candoliers (electric candles), but we've learned they may not work with all modern electric candles without modification (see below). Our Halo also fit Tru-Tone Classic, Deluxe and standard light string sockets.
If your Halos don't properly fit with your modern candoliers, we have a couple solutions you can try.
The first and best solution will require a PLASTIC C7 or other E12 base bulb. See examples of some of these below. Your modern electric candles may have come with plastic bulbs that can be used. We do not recommend this process using a Tru-Tone or other GLASS bulb.
1: Unplug your electric candle (safety first!).
2: Screw a PLASTIC bulb into the electric candle socket.
3: Grip the bulb in one hand and the candle in the other, and pull firmly until the socket pops out of the candle. This will not harm or expose any wiring.
4: Push the socket back into the candle until it is flush, or just above the top edge of the candle.
5: Remove the plastic bulb.
6: Install your Halos and Tru-Tone bulbs as directed.
Note, this may be more or less difficult depending on the candle. If this method fails you can consider our second solution below.
1: Unplug your electric candle and remove any bulbs.
2: Using a utility knife with a fresh blade, carefully slice off the plastic top of your electric candle, so that the top edge is flush with the socket. This should be about 1/8" of an inch of material. The plastic is soft, so this is not difficult... but use caution handling your knife!
3: Install your Halos and Tru-Tone bulbs as directed.
