Notes for the LED FILAMENT
Regardless of the configuration, the LED filament for all our light bulbs is the most important.
Along with other bulb details, It is very important the LED filament is the highest quality. When we identify and approve of the LED filament specifications (such as color temperature, wattage, LED chip type and filament manufacturer), it is very important to be able to use this same LED filament specifications for all of our bulbs long into the future, so that we can maintain consistency.
Custom Filament Configuration
We are interested in a custom filament configuration in a “Λ” shape as shown above.
With our understanding of newer and current LED filament technology, we have proposed several methods for achieving this shape. After considering all methods, we believe that it may be most practical to use 2 individual filaments, soldered together at the top in this shape.
There is concern that in this configuration, the LED filaments are as equally bright from most viewing angles. Perhaps a sapphire, rather than ceramic substrate may help. We propose that the LED chips are mounted to the substrate in a way that permits them to shine in an UP and OUT direction as illustrated above, thus making the dim portion of the light aim down towards the base of the light.
This filament configuration is primarily of interest for us to use in transparent-color bulbs, but also offers the potential to improve the opaque color ceramic-type bulbs, eliminating the slight shadow from the standard single LED filament configuration wire.
Due to the smaller filament lengths required to create this configuration with our specifications, we anticipate the requirement for a special custom order from the filament manufacturer.

INITIAL SAMPLE REQUESTS
All samples specifically related to the LED filament should be 120V
with 2200ºK color temperature
and between 0.54 – 0.64 TOTAL watts for COMBINED 2 filament configuration.
